OEM style wrap around rail for the classic Boston whaler 13'. Made from 7/8" polished 316 stainless tubing. The railing comes fitted with tube sleeves inside the rail at each joint to preserve structural integrity. These seams are at the "T" fitting locations and therefore concealed. Option to include 316 polished stainless sanctions, bases, and T fittings OR without hardware to reuse your own.  If you choose "no hardware" you may have to cut your original rail to remove your T-fittings. Will fit classic 13' hulls 1958 - 1999. Will not fit SSL even with modification.

Note: If your boat is was made before 1979 this rail will technically still fit, however, it requires modification and it will need to be moved forward approximately 6" so that the front uprights can mount to the top of the front lip in the bow (second to last image). This will cause a slight over hang slightly beyond the two uprights. We do not have instructions for installing this rail kit on pre 1979 hulls. The railing kits that are made for pre 1979 hulls are the bow rail and side rails.

Note: Purple 222 Loctite is highly recommended to secure set screws

This fit our 1968 13’ Boston Whaler hull really well with only minor adjustments. Two suggestions: 1) Hole alignment with the vertical posts and stanchions was slightly off. Two of the bolts became galled as a result. I attempted to enlarge the holes to improve alignment with limited success. 2) The two forward stanchions landed on the side shelf with too much of a sharp corner hanging over the edge. This is where the boat tapers and these shelves diminish to nothing. I chose to ground these corners round to eliminate the impact. You may want to suggest that for others that use this system on older Whalers. Or, clip the corners before shipping them to those customers. I can send a close-up, if needed.

Store owner replied: Hi Casey, Thank you for the detail in the review. It is good for future customer's to understand. The rails designed by Boston Whaler are surprisingly lacking in fitment despite the fact that these came directly from Whaler and not an outsourced party back when they boats were being designed. However it is still better for us to stick with OEM than have us start making adjustments for a few reasons.

Specialty Marine is great and super helpful. They get a 5 star as always for their responsive and helpfulness. However the front leg was designed incorrectly. The base has no where to sit with the stanchion mounted. It’s a miss for such a great product and a beautiful addition to the boat. I love it. Just wished it was better designed.

Store owner replied: Hey Linda, I know we spoke via email but wanted to post a reponse here too so other customers can understand. There is no other piece you need. You can sort of see in the fourth image in the listing that the leg sits on the lip you are referring to. It is however a small area for this leg (just the design from Whaler). Some people forgo the base all together and some just let it the base hang off the lip a bit. Unfortunately this isn't our design. Its Boston Whalers and we cannot improve upon it without upsetting the vast majority of owners out there that already have the stand-offs holes from their original rail. Its best just to stick with OEM designs on these.
