Boston Whaler OEM 3 piece 37' rub rail kit in ALL BLACK. Fits all Boston Whaler Classic 9' - 17' hulls from 1958 - 1998 (excluding Dauntless, 17' Outrage). Includes all mounting hardware & instructions. Aluminum rivets are included (3/16" diameter, 2 3/8" length; .751-.875 grip range ). 12x1.5 screws (not provided) can also be used but must be countersunk so they do not interfere with the insert.

Dimensions: 1 5/8" wide When installed on the lip the rub rail covers approximately 1 1/2" vertically (down) & 7/8" horizontally on top

Note: The width of the the vintage OEM original equipment is 1 1/2". The newer rub rail kits do not reach all the way down to the bottom edge, so when installed there will be about a 1/2" strip of gunnel lip visible below the rub rail.

Note: Rigid receivers can be heated up to 175 degree Fahrenheit to allow for more pliable installation

Fairly simple install. Florida sun helped a ton to soften plastic insert. Got a tip that I have not seen- saw a lot of people trimming pieces with box cutter/razor blades. I used PVC cutter and it cut clean and perfectly straight!

Great fit for my 1984 15' classic. It's a challenge to install the rigid receiver, definitely recommend finding a friend to help you! I read one piece of advice which I followed and it worked great - I hung the receiver out along my garage rafters (in August) for 2 weeks so it would loosen and straighten. It looks fantastic!

Store owner replied: Hi Lynn, This is by design aka intentional. Rub rails are all stiff. If you watch the instructional video you can see how a heat gun is used to mold it to the boat.

Good product although it can be difficult to wrangle just out of the box. Set the uncoiled plastic in the full sun for about an hour or so before using it. You’ll probably need at least 2 people (although I did it alone with some tape!) and a heat gun. After the first 3-4 feet it is much easier to install. There’s always gonna be some waves in the plastic but overall I’m very happy with the results!
